Dave Carr has been a professional ventriloquist for over 35 years. His interest began at age 7 when he saw Paul Winchell on his Saturday morning "Winchell-Mahoney Show" on TV. Dave's first paid show was at age 13 and he's been performing ever since. During his college years Dave toured with the "Talent USA" and "Jaberwalkie Review" troupes in California, and he performed for the U.S. Armed Forces during the 1970's.
Dave performs over 60 birthday parties a year, in addition to county fairs, carnivals, school programs, fire company events, summer camps, and libraries. He has a very entertaining nightclub act also. He currently performs in eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.
"Ventriloquism is second nature to me. I am in a whole different world when I am performing. I feel like I've gone to Disneyland and I don't have to leave. Besides, it's the only art in which an adult can play with dolls and be accepted!" |
