John Stanky
& The Coalminers
John Stanky, the "Gentleman Of Polkas"! John began
his musical career in 1945. He formed his first band in 1950,
changing their name to the "Coalminers" in 1962, as
some of the players worked the mines.
To date, the group has recorded many albums,and has performed
on cruise
ships as well as numerous tours to Holland,
Germany,Italy,Switzerland, Austria, South America, China and
many other fabulous places.
John has composed more than 40 songs. His most popular is the
"Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie Polka". His "Hats
Off To Pennsylvania" is being considered for the state
song.
